Summer is the time to seal your ornaments.
All concrete (cast stone) garden ornaments need to be water sealed. This sealing helps to protect the surface from erosion caused during freeze/thaw cycles. Because the colour is in the surface layer, it also preserves the original look of the ornament.
Water sealer is applied simply with a plastic spray bottle. Anyone can do it.
Are there various kinds of sealers? Yes. Classic Rock carries an industrial product designed for the exterior of skyscrapers so its sealing properties last longer. We have two varieties, one is water-based and the other is mineral spirits-based. Let us tell you about them.
Since concrete must be clean and dry prior to sealing, summer is the perfect time to make sure all of your ornaments are protected. On submerged areas of fountains, sealer should be applied annually. On other areas, using our sealer, you can go several years with one good application.
Please note: water sealing does not protect against damage caused by ice buildup and expansion. All bowls must be kept empty during freezing weather. We carry fountain covers for winter use.
This new sculpture of Pan, by artist Dan Marian, is simply wonderful.

The York Fountain, manufactured by Classic Rock, was chosen to grace the front entry of Carlton House of Oak Bay.
The Westminster Fountain, manufactured by Classic Rock, was chosen as the focal point of the front terrace for Winchester Art Gallery and Ottavio's Bakery in Oak Bay.
Classic Rock is honoured to have our Roman Fountain chosen as the centrepiece for the Rose Garden of Government House, the official residence of the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia.
One Vancouver homeowner separated the upper and lower sections of the D0124 Standing Leone Fountain and installed it in his own beautiful surround.

This sundial was originally sculpted in stone from Quebec. It includes name and date, a cross and fine detail carvings along the sides of the top. |
The metal items below are created from "found" materials and are simply wonderful! A local Victoria artist has designed and created each piece by hand, so while very similar, no two pieces are exactly the same.

The cast stone body of both herons is only 3" wide to reduce weight. When touched or blown by the wind, the heron gently rocks to and fro on its detachable metal legs. |

LocationsOur retail store is located on Pat Bay Hwy. at Sayward Rd., adjacent to Elk Lake Garden Centre (5471 Hamsterly Road). Please phone for store hours, as they change seasonally.
Our factory is located at 2046-B Keating X Road. Access is via the driveway to the left of the old Home Hardware building. The factory is open Monday-Friday only.
